Courchevel in the Three Valleys is known for more than just skiing and snowboarding – it’s renowned for its vibrant, authentic and luxurious food scene. We’ve compiled a list of our top 5 altitude restaurants in Courchevel that includes a mix of gastronomic cuisine, gorgeous mountainside lunch spots, authentic Savoyard dining and Italian feasts to ensure there’s something for everyone.

Best lively mountainside lunch: Bagatelle (1850)

Bagatelle’s top chefs Rocco Seminara and Jules Pronost transport flavours of the French Riviera to your plate, high in the mountains. With one of the most sought-after views in the 3 Valleys celebrated with table dancers and live music, you could spend all day savouring different parts of the signature menu (and getting your fill of truffley goodness).

Best mountain side cafe gourmand in 3 Vallées: La Cave des Creux (1850)

La Cave des Creux is a unique setting, both romantic and traditional, yet fresh and modern at the same time. If there’s one thing you have to sample here – it’s the Café Gourmand. Every element will blow you away. Pair it with a hot chocolate for ultimate sugary fix, or stop here for a long, boozy lunch – the full menu is phenomenal. Time your visit to coincide with resident strolling band The Strikes for a lunch you won’t forget in a hurry.

Best Italian in Courchevel: Mille Sabords (1850)

Mille Sabords is the only Italian restaurant in Courchevel on the slopes. It’s entirely unique, with a menu serving transalpine, Italian dishes. The truffle risotto and Milanese Veal is a must try or give their renowned Cognac flambéed penne served in a Parmesan cheese wheel a go. Owned by the luxurious Maison Tournier brand, the interior celebrates life under the ocean, somehow making it feel entirely relevant to life thousands of metres above the sea floor.

Best luxury piste side restaurant: Le Chalet de Pierres (1850)

The atmosphere at Le Chalet De Pierres is always fantastic in part due to its accessible location, great service and dreamy menu. The building was once a former Maurienne train station, and the cultural heritage is celebrated in the design. The signature dish is their seafood and shellfish, prepared by the master Ecailler. If you want something a little lighter, their sumptuous buffet is a wonderful choice.

Best hot chocolate in Courchevel: La Casserole (1650)

La Casserole’s dark interior is moody and inviting at the same time. It’s a fantastic mid-morning break spot from skiing – particularly as it’s home to the best hot chocolate in Courchevel. Yet the hot drinks aren’t the only delicious thing about La Casserole – with incredible grilled meats and whole-farm chickens served, it’s a place that celebrates farming in a totally luxurious way.
