This exceptional 19th century villa is located on the beautiful Island of Capri, in the bustling town of Anacapri. Originally built for a noble Caprese family, this property has recently been fully restored and decorated by designer Jorge Cañete (who won an International Design Award for his work on the property). This holiday villa is within short walking distance to the town square and all of the shops and restaurants. Moreover, the principal ferry port of Marina Grande is only 15 minutes away by car.
This traditional style villa offers flexible accommodation with a separate two-bedroom annex beside the pool area, providing an ideal environment for a stay with extended family or friends. The property has 7 en-suite bedrooms, a large heated swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a number of private terraces and a beautiful garden complete with bougainvillea and a water walkway. This luxury villa offers a fairly open living plan and interiors furnished in a classic style with eclectic touches. All of the rooms are light and bright with natural light due to the number of large windows throughout.
The ground floor has a spacious living and dining room, both of which are furnished to high standards and offer unique features such as an internal fountain and an elegant stepped table in the living room. The restored hand-painted tiles in the living room are particularly impressive. The fully fitted kitchen is also situated on the ground floor however, this area is only accessible by the two on-site staff members. The main villa is arranged over two levels, with five en-suite double bedrooms on the first floor. Two further en suite double bedrooms are located below the main villa in the pool house annex. Each bedroom is decorated in a unique style that evokes the glamour of a bygone era. Moreover, each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar and private safe.
The villa benefits from its remarkable private garden, which is set on a number of terraced levels facing the ocean through a row of cypress trees. The garden also features a sizeable vegetable patch, and the vegetables grown here are often used in meals prepared at the villa. The terrace adjacent to the main villa also provides an elegant area for al fresco dining amidst the bougainvillea and whitewashed columns. This area is easily accessible from the dining room and living room. In addition, there is a spectacular large heated infinity pool with an accompanying hot-tub.
There is an alfresco shower next to the pool area, and the pool itself is accessed by an elegant integration of a pre-existing staircase, reinforcing the fact that this villa is all about style, and celebrating the best of classic and modern design. This elegant villa offers private and luxurious accommodation in the heart of one of the most beautiful islands of the Mediterranean. One can just imagine enjoying breakfast on the terrace, spending a relaxing afternoon by the pool, and wandering the grounds in absolute tranquility.
Note: Non-resident cars and rental cars are prohibited from mid-March to the beginning of November, and, regardless, they wouldn’t be of use as the centers of Capri and Anacapri are completely closed off to traffic and very little public parking is available. Public transportation is very easy and convenient and there are always taxis available.
