Idéal 1850 is, as the name implies, 1850 meters above Megève and has a dramatic view of the Mont Blanc mountains. A champagne bar is also available to add sparkle to the already heady views and delicious food. Lunch is made even more fun with live music and DJs on the weekend and the views from the terrace are sublime.
If you want another restaurant with breathtaking views check out Super Megève. Accessible by cable car, this restaurant has a large terrace and offers a variety of local dishes, but what it’s known for are its barbecued meats grilled over a large fire. With panoramic alpine views this is a superb choice for a hearty lunch.
La Folie Douce
If you’re looking to combine food, wine, and music, look no further than La Folie Douce. In spite of the beautiful views, it’s not the scenic atmosphere that beckons but the festive party that takes place every afternoon. DJ’s, singers, dancers and enthusiastic guests make this place the perfect après-ski destination.
Started in 1934, Les Mandarines is the oldest high altitude restaurant in France. Situated in the Mont d’Arbois ski area the restaurant is accessed by the Mont d’Arbois or the Princesses télécabines. A south facing terrace and Sky Lounge Bar give customers plenty of opportunity to drink in the amazing views of Mont Blanc and the village of Megève while enjoying traditional French food such as tartiflette and a warm Beaufort tart, as well as grilled meats and other dishes.
Another spectacular choice for lunch is L’Alpette. Located near Rochebrune at the top of a chairlift, you can enjoy a variety of French dishes such as foie gras and escargots along with charcuterie, fondue, hamburgers and daily specials. The stunning views serve as an ideal backdrop to the delicious cuisine.
