Sardinia’s soft white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters have soothed nerves and inspired meditation on nature’s beauty for centuries. There are plenty of beaches to choose from as they frame this stunning island. The following are five of the most beautiful beaches in Northern Sardinia.

Spiaggia del Principe

Spiaggia del Principe (“beach of the prince”) is located near the small village of Cala di Volpe. It is named after the Aga Khan because it is reputedly his favorite beach in Northern Sardinia. Nestled into the scrub-lined coast, the crescent shaped beach is about a 10 minute walk from the parking area and doesn’t disappoint. It has all the beauty of Sardinian beaches as well as natural rock formations that dot the sea. It is excellent for snorkeling and there is a small bar where visitors can purchase lunch, ice cream and cold drinks.

Spiaggia di Liscia Ruja

The largest beach in this area of Sardinia is Spiaggia di Liscia Ruja. A long, wide stretch of powdery white sand, this beach is also known as “long beach” and makes this sandy paradise perfect for long walks along the water’s edge. Visitors can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs at one of the beach clubs.

Located in front of one of the coast’s most luxurious hotels, Romazzino Hotel, is Spiaggia di Romazzino. This lovely beach has shallow waters that make it ideal for families with small children. The clear turquoise sea is perfect for snorkeling.

Grande Pevero

Near Porto Cervo is Grande Pevero, considered by some to be one of the most glamorous and exclusive beaches in the world. The waters are shallow, making this a great beach for families with children. Framed by a pond and small dunes, Grande Pevero faces North where visitors can enjoy watching yachts come and go. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops in this area as well as a golf course nearby that makes this a popular spot for golfers and their families.

Spiaggia Capriccioli

Spiaggia Capriccioli is a small beautiful beach not far from Principe Beach. It is located between granite outcrops and also has shallow waters making it a great destination for families with children. Small fish abound and can be enjoyed even without snorkeling. Visitors can rent umbrellas and sunbeds and there is a restaurant nearby.

Choose one beach or try them all. Each has its own unique character but they all share the beauty and allure of Sardinia’s famous white beaches and glittering water. To book a luxury holiday villa in Northern Sardinia, click here.
