Situated in front of the small sandy beach of Port de Sant Miquel, lies Restaurante Port Balansat. Open since 1971, this landmark is regarded as the best fish restaurant on the island. Apparently this hidden gem is a favorite of a senior member of the British Royal family and, during the summer, it’s not uncommon for people from Mallorca to take the boat to Ibiza specifically to lunch at Port Balansat.

The restaurant’s charming terrace is perfect to retreat from the summer sun and enjoy a relaxed family ambiance or the cool Mediterranean breeze for romantic nights under the stars. The restaurant also has a lovely spacious interior dining area designed in a fresh, contemporary nautical theme.

According to the owner, Port Balansat was the first restaurant on Ibiza to offer the traditional fish stew “Bullit de Peix” before other restaurants began to follow suit and it became one of the island’s best known dishes. The restaurant’s Mediterranean cuisine combines tradition, fresh produce and their chef’s expertise. Their specialty is rice, fish, and seafood however their menu caters to everyone including vegetarians and celiac’s.

Port Balansat is open every day from the beginning of May to end of November from mid-day, and evenings.
