Andrea Bocelli’s Teatro Del Silenzio in Tuscany

The famous tenor, Andrea Bocelli, was born in the outskirts of the city of Lajatico not far from Pisa and it is here that the town constructed a special theater (based on Bocelli’s vision) which is dedicated to performances by the great Italian singer. Renowned for his extraordinary voice and equally at home with operatic and pop music, Bocelli has sung with performers as diverse as Luciano Pavarotti and Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion and Ana Maria Martinez and continues to invite performers of all types of music and from all corners of the world to join him once a year at this special venue.

Set in the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany, the theater has hosted a concert by Bocelli every July since it opened in 2006. For the rest of the year the “theater of silence” reflects the beautiful silence of nature. The stage is flooded and a sculpture (or sculptures) is set on a platform rising from the water, creating a marvelous theater of nature where anyone who visits can contemplate the mysterious allure of the natural world. This contemplative aspect of the arena will be enlarged upon and expanded this year on the theme of “Il Mistero della Bellozza” or “The Mystery of Beauty” when Bocelli invites world renowned musicians and performers to join him in a paean to the beauty and power of humanity and nature. These performances will celebrate the mystical, enigmatic ideal of beauty which is derived from and intertwined with the beauty of the natural world.

Teatro del Silenzio will come alive again on July 24th and 26th, 2020 with spectacular music, dance and art.
