The Gornergrat Area for Intermediates

Intermediate skiers will find their rhythm on the diverse runs of the Gornergrat area. Expert’s Challenge – The Klein Matterhorn

Of course, most expert skiers in Zermatt looking to challenge themselves naturally gravitate towards the Klein Matterhorn, home to Zermatt’s highest pistes. With an array of different terrain options, from challenging bumps on Triftji to the steep descent of the Schwarzsee, the combination of altitude and incline means just one thing – adrenaline, and a lot of it.

It wouldn’t feel right to write about an expert challenge in Zermatt without mentioning the legendary ‘Obere National’ in Sunnegga, a former World Cup race run with a challenging 600m drop. It’s steep and difficult– but so worth it.
